Name of Allah Al-Hayy The Ever-Living
Praise be to Allah and peace and blessings be upon Allah's Messenger, His family and His companions.
ِAlmighty Allah says
"And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die.
Al-Furqan: 58
Meanings and Denotations of Allah's Name Al-Hayy:
1- He is the Ever-Living and anything else will perish and die except what the Almighty keeps alive.
2- He has the ultimate and supreme Life, and He has the perfect attributes so there is no comparison between the life of the creation and the Life of the Great Creator.
3- His Life is from His Essence, and no life for the creation except when He gives them life.
4- His Life is not preceded by nothingness, and will not end like the lives of His creation. He is The First without anything prior to Him, and He is the Last without an end. Praise be to Him, there is not beginning for His Existence and no end of His Existence.
5- His Life has not shortcoming whatsoever, there is no tiredness, no deficiency, no sleep and no sickness like His creation, His Life implies the complete perfection of strength, knowledge and loftiness.8
6- The Name of Allah 'Al-Hayy' implies the Perfect Attributes of His Essence, while 'Al-Qayyum' implies the Perfect Attributes of His Actions.
7- The creation cannot realize the nature or manner of His Life, Praise be to Him, and they cannot also explain the nature of all His Attributes because the creation is unable to encompass the Strong Knowledgeable Creator.
8- Almighty Allah will end the life of all His creatures on the Day of Resurrection until no one remains alive except Him, Praise Be to Him. He shall manifest His Strength and Oneness against all those who assimilated themselves to Him in terms of greatness.
Worshipping Allah by His Name Al-Hayy:
1- The believer in Allah's Name Al-Hayy should seek reviving his heart by the constant remembrance of Allah (Dhikr). The dead is not the one whose heart stopped beating, it is the person whose tongue stopped the remembrance of Allah (Dhikr).
2- Then, the believer should pursue the life which Almighty Allah wants for the believer which the life of guidance and righteousness, the life of pride and dignity, not the life of humiliation and regret which is for those defiled by sins and treachery.
3- The believer should aspire to earn the eternal life and everlasting bliss, and pleasure. He will not earn that except by striving in the path of the Lord, i.e. become a martyr to join the pleased and content courageous souls.
4- The Name of Allah Al-Hayy Al-Qayyum might be the Greatest Name of Allah that whomever calls Allah with shall be blessed, but the believer should not become bored of obeying
